I rarely take time to make stained glass for myself, which is a shame. I had a tiny bit of glass that I absolutely loved and am please with the final project. Let's take a look...
I love this deep ripples in the clear iridescent glass! It's beastly to shape and foil, but worth the effort. An this purple. Wowza, does it pop! I love how it draws attention to the purple in the iridescent glass.
With a fairly simple pattern in mind, I created a miniature lampshade for candles. A candle shade, if you will. After cutting and shaping, foiling and tacking, I taped the sections together,
Yes, tape. What a great tool! It has just enough tack to hold the pieces in place while I solder the four panels together. No way I could hold them steady and not burn myself.
And a few hours later, ta-da! Oh, check that decorative solder out... very old gothic vibes.
I don't know if I'll make more of these or not, but sometimes, it's fun to have something nice for yourself.
